Zeke & Lizzy's Seafood and Steakhouse is the realization of a dream. DeWitt and his wife Sherrye cooked and entertained friends and family for many years in south Louisiana. They also catered several events while DeWitt was in the medical field, and Sherrye was an elementary teacher. Sherrye surprised DeWitt with enrollment at Louisiana Culinary Institute as an anniversary gift where he gained technical culinary skills to enhance his natural abilty to create flavorful foods.

Since graduating from LCI he has been executive chef at Baton Rouge restaurants including The Country Club of Louisiana, Galatoire's Bistro, and Table Kitchen and Bar. He also spent two years in Cody, Wyoming as the executive chef at Monster Lake Ranch. Sherrye retired from teaching, and the couple moved to Heber Springs in November 2022. Zeke & Lizzy's opened in December 2022.

The restaurant is named after their dogs they had when they met in 2005. Zeke was Chef's yellow lab, and Lizzy was Sherrye's rat terrier. The Ginns opened Zeke & Lizzy's in beautiful Heber Springs, Arkansas so they can share the flavors of Louisiana with folks in Arkansas and surrounding areas. Zeke & Lizzy's is a casual upscale full-service restaurant offering classic Louisiana dishes as well as high-quality steaks.
